OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY

Here at PRIMO Performance and Rehab our occupational therapist focus on physical conditions affecting upper body, shoulders, elbows, forearms, wrist, and hands. Your arms and hands are the best tools that you have been given. If you are experiencing pain or any other deficit in your upper extremity, you know firsthand that it can impact your daily activities from grabbing your morning cup of coffee to playing your favorite instrument to pulling the bed sheets over your body.

Some of the diagnosis we treat include:

  • Forearm pain
  • Tendonitis
  • Carpal tunnel syndrome
  • Shoulder pain
  • Shoulder impingement
  • Rotator cuff strains, tears, and repairs
  • Tennis elbow / lateral epicondylitis
  • Golfer’s elbow / medial epicondylitis
  • Elbow disorders
  • Wrist/hand/thumb/finger pain
  • Cumulative trauma disorders / repetitive stress injuries
  • Peripheral nerve compression and disease
  • Soft tissue injuries
  • Fractures
  • Back and neck pain
  • Smart phone hand pain

Our therapist have helped some of our patients avoid invasive surgeries to address a condition like hand numbness, by using a non-invasive hands on treatment approach and patient education.

What is Occupational Therapy?

Occupational therapy (OT) is a form of therapy that can help people with physical or mental illness where that illness is affecting their activities in daily life. Occupational therapists have studied anatomy, physiology, neurological function, musculoskeletal function, biomechanics, ergonomics, mental health, and psychosocial health; all of which I apply in my occupational therapy assessment and when developing my plan of care.
